The Yachts are some of the many drivable Vehicles in Teardown. There are 2 different yachts in the game.
Note: Both of the yachts perform very similarly.
Yacht[]
The Yacht is the first of the 2 versions. It's very first appearance is on the West Point Marina in the Making Space mission.
Design[]
The Yacht does not appear to be based on any specific model of vessel. It has a large raked bow attached to a very long hull covered with a wooden deck. A small flag and a few seats are present on the bow, while 3 windows line the hull on each side, allowing personel in the engine room to peer outside. The stern is the main access point, featuring a ladder on the left side to climb onto the ship, a passageway into the engine room and a set of stairs leading to the first floor.
The Yacht has 3 floors in total(4 if you count the engine room), each complete with a myriad of windows. The first isn't very exciting, holding multiple unfurnished rooms, a path to the front deck and a staircase leading to the second floor. The second contains the control room of the boat and has both a terrace and the third-floor staircase in the back. The third floor is the roof of the yacht. It is furnished with a wooden floor, a couple of chairs and tables and a steering wheel with a very short windshield stretching across the front. A large, chrome radar arch is right above the staircase. Railings are present everywhere on the ship. The Yacht is painted in a white color with black accents and beige floors.
Luxury Yacht[]
The Luxury Yacht is the second of the two versions. Its very first appearance is on Isla Estocastica.
Design[]
The Luxury Yacht's hull is similar to the Yacht's, albeit slightly smaller and a little lower. The bow is raked at a more extreme angle and railings wrap around the entire first floor. The stern is still the main access point, though it is slightly wider than the hull and extends across the sides. A center ladder allows anyone to get onto the ship while two narrow pathways on either side lead to the front deck(that has a single seat with some luxurious armrests) aswell as the entrances to the main floors. Standing right infront of the stern ladder is also a passage into an engine room that's slightly more secure, thanks to the addition of a pivoting top hatch. Every single pathway or entrance or room on the ship is furnished with a wooden floor.
Right behind said passage is a ladder and a sliding door, located to the left and the right respectively. The sliding door opens up to the first floor, featuring plentiful furniture(two couches, two tables and even a sink!) and a center seat overlooking a control panel. A pair of large windows taking up the sides let in plenty of sun, while a huge panoramic windshield up front grants great visibility to anyone sitting in the center seat.
Taking the ladder leads to the second/top floor, where the steering wheel and captain's seat are located. A large, flowing radar arch is present right above the ladder, accompanied by a couch sitting behind both on a large platform that stretches across the sides of the yacht. A table and four whole couches leads the way to the captain's seat, overseeing the entire front end of the yacht, which is joined by an undersized windshield right in front of it. The Luxury Yacht is painted in two main colors: a standard white color coating the hull, a light red color covering the underside and staining the furniture, all topped off with black accents.
Performance[]
As should be expected for big boats, the Yachts don't perform very well. They're both very slow and their size makes them difficult to manuever properly. They're also boats, which means they need to swing their entire rear end around in order to turn, necessitating a large amount of space to be able to change direction. Not very agile... and on top of all that, they don't have much of a use.
Though, now that I think about it, I do suppose they have a place as implements of destruction however. This is because plowing a yacht into something is typically devastating. The Yachts are only one-trick ponies here though, as while it may be devastating for the obstacle to be plowed into, the same goes for the boat. After such a confrontation the yacht will most likely have sustained so much damage that it sinks as soon as it dislodges from the ruins of whatever it was destroying. Don't feel too bad; there wasn't much else you could use one for anyway.
Overall, the Yachts aren't very practical watercraft. They're big and hard to pilot. But if you want something gone... drive a yacht into it. As long as that thing is close to the water.
