West Point Marina is a map in Teardown. It is the third map unlocked in the Campaign.
Description[]
It is a large industrial facility dedicated to delivery and trading of offshore goods, complete with a civilian area for its residents. The West Point Marina does not seem to have an owner but a harbor master (Jim Daeglish), however Lawrence Lee Junior appears to have leased the warehouse in the industrial area.
Layout[]
Industrial Area[]
The first part of the map is the industrial section, being home to large machines and construction equipment. The most noticeable feature from the spawn is the automated fence, which blocks the main road into the industrial area. This fence opens automatically for any cars that may be driving through it but does not open for people. Right after the fence and to the left are large metal tanks with steel pipes leading out of them. This spot is where construction vehicles spawn, such as the Mobile crane. Farther up the road is a small boathouse, where an undrivable boat sometimes hangs from ropes. Other watercraft can spawn behind the boat. On the opposite side from the boathouse is a road that leads up to a large brick shed, which is immediately visible from spawn, but is closed off with fences. It has a large explosive canister sitting near it's wall, facing the road.
On the opposite side of the shed road and a bit farther ahead is a large warehouse-like building. This building has large barn doors on both sides that can be opened to reveal the mostly empty interior, where a Semi can spawn. It is surrounded by another automated fence accompanied by a small door. Right in front of the door is a small side alley, which can be used to move to the harbor. On the side of the building in the alley is a large explosive canister and a steel pipe that crosses the road, joined by a Van. After the steel pipe are several shipping containers, where a Front Loader can spawn. Opposite the shipping containers are the boat docks, where a Big fishing boat resides.
After the boat, the road is blocked by a swiveling fence, which can be opened by hand. A Forklift can spawn near the fence. To the left it is a small door, separated by more metal fence. This door can be opened to allow access to the catwalk, which has metal stairs leading up to it. Surrounding the catwalk are a myriad of pipes with red valves on them. The catwalk is big enough to access all of the valves and can also be used to climb atop the pipes. Some parts of the catwalk rest on a large metal machine with a conveyor belt leading out of it. This conveyor belt leads to another machine with a large chute on top of it. Right after the chute machine comes a large crane device that rides on rails. It has a large metal arm and a cockpit (cannot be used), all facing the dock. This entire assembly is enclosed by metal fences.
Back on the road, there are lots of shipping containers scattered around. There is a wooden shed in the edge of the path with a shipping container and a forklift inside. Farther down the road, there are multiple large tanks. The pipes from the catwalk lead into them. The road gets narrower after the metal tanks, due to the sides being occupied by wooden crates and even more shipping containers. The road eventually gets to another swiveling metal fence, blocking entry to the warehouse. An Industrial Forklift can spawn behind the fence. Around the forklift is a lot of green shipping containers, metal boxes, wooden crates, metal barrels and wooden pallets. After all of these objects is the wooden warehouse, which has a porch entrance, a large barn door entrance, and a kitchen entrance. Cars can spawn outside and inside of the warehouse.
Two of the entrances to the warehouse (the porch entrance and the barn door entrance) lead into a large wooden storage room with multiple boxes, big shelves, and an assortment of random items strewn about the room. Cars (Defender or Eurus as well as others) can spawn inside of here as well. To the right of the barn door and porch entrance are a set of stairs which lead up to two office rooms. They have items like chairs and tables inside of them, and objectives commonly spawn inside of or around these office rooms. The kitchen entrance leads into a kitchen on the far side of the warehouse, which can also be accessed through the large storage room. The kitchen also has items strewn around it, such as a broom, small shelves, and a crate of safety cones. There is also a white wardrobe near the kitchen entrance, and a window between the stove and the wardrobe, facing the civilian side.
Outside of the kitchen window is a large open area with stairs that lead down to the industrial harbor(a large stone pathway on the level of the water. it is lower than the rest of the road, as the road is high above the water level). This area is a fairly long stretch of stone path that has planks floating atop blue barrels on the water, reducing the amount of space available for boats to pull into the harbor. However, boats can still spawn there. Far down the path is a pair of doors, one on the higher level located behind large metal canisters, and one on the lower harbor level. These doors lead back to the large crane machine and can be used to enter into the warehouse from the boat dock(and vice versa).
Overall, the Industrial area is a large mass of road shaped like a backwards L that is occupied by heavy machinery plus storage units and is the spawning place for much of the in-game construction machinery.
Civilian[]
This area contains of grill bar, two large wooden houses, arbor on the top of hill and summer cabins.
It starts off with hydraulic bridge, that can be opened using small panels aside. Then, the road turns left, leving it behind. On the outer edge is huge BlueTide Energy Drink commercial, highlighted blue. Next to it, Drab 75 and white Van spawn in a row sometimes. Going further, on the right there are few electrical boxes and a Yellow Van.
Right in front of it, fully-wooden grill bar is found. It's standing on wooden floor, that is surrounded with hedge. Beside the building, there are few benches and tables for grill bar's customers. On the left, brick stairs are leading to small hill, which contains of small tree surrounded by benches for some reason, and empty wooden arbor. Going back on road, the most noticeable thing appears - a big wooden office, colored yellow. Behind the office, a wooden dock can be found. the Race Boat and Cruise Boat are docked in there. Going back, in front of the office there is small grass area, surrounded by low cobblestone fence, with a tree inside. Next, The Station Wagon and Microcar spawn, almost on the street. The street leas left, the outer edge isn't protected with anything, so any car that spins out falls to the sea. Inner part is a high cliff, that cannot be climbed.
Going further by road, a community building appears, colored blue. a small sign outside says "BINGO NIGHT EVERY WEDNESDAY" suggesting it's being used by a bigger group of people. On the left of the community building we can sometimes find gray SUV, parked in a parking area. After that, The road ends with fault.
After it, there is the time share cabins section. It starts off with a wooden dock, going all the way through it. Time share cabins are small wooden, blue coloured buildings, connected with a dock, standing on big wooden poles, disappearing at the fifth cabin. On the dock, two Cruise Boats can be found in sandbox.
Story[]
Part One[]
The West Point Marina is one of the many facilities in which Lawrence Lee Junior, a troubled businessman with a big reputation in the criminal underworld conducts his criminal operations. A police investigator named Parisa Terdiman is trying to imprison Lee on charges of tax evasion, but is unable to get a warrant. After a mission goes arwy the Player becomes part of a criminal investigation that Parisa is leading. She strikes a deal: Help her imprison Lee and she will cover for you.
The first mission on the West Point Marina, Making space, is a destructive operation led by Gordon Woo, a wealthy contractor looking to make space for one of his new vehicles, a large Yacht. The player is instructed to destroy one of the time share cabins in the civilian area in order to allow construction of a new dock. In order to avoid legal trouble, Woo instructs the player to destroy the original documentation. Lawrence Lee attends a classic car auction and wins two vintage automobiles(an old military Jacobi SL and a Gauss-Seidel B50) which he transports to the Marina. Gordon Woo, who believes Lee will sell them overseas, orders the player to steal the vehicles. This angers Lee, who later finds discovers Gordon as the culprit due to him showing off "his" new cars. This is what starts the rivalry between Lee and Gordon. Eventually, the police catch on to Lee's misdeeds and Parisa uses the info from the computers aquired in The Lee Computers to lead the investigation to the West Point Marina. This starts The GPS devices misson, where Terdiman orders the player to steal multiple GPS devices and log files in order to discover the location of an anonymous client identified as BT in Lee's emails. The items aquired in this mission lead the investigation to Hollowrock Island, the location of the BT client. Construction company owner Anton Wolfe finds about the player's skills and asks for assistance. This leads to the Tool up mission, where Wolfe instructs the player to steal multiple new tools from the West Point Marina in order to aid with other projects or to sabotage the rival Bob's Construction Company. After more conflict between Woo and Lee, Lee instructs the player to steal multiple of Woo's paintings. This attracts the attention of Woo's insurance company. A claim adjuster of the insurance company, Gillian Johnson, asks the player to retrieve the paintings from Lee's possesion on the Marina, where he has hidden them. This is the last mission on the Marina in the first part of the campaign. |
