"A true workhorse. Not very fast, but its rugged design and high ground clearance means it essentialy can get through just about anywhere." - Description in Drive to survive
The Taskmaster 4WD is one of the many drivable Vehicles in Teardown. It's first appearance is in Lee Chemicals.
Design[]
The Taskmaster 4WD appears to be based off of Ford F Series trucks like the F150 and the Ford Raptor. The flat front end is dominated by a huge black grille, surrounded by 2 headlight units, housing small headlamps and indicators on the corners, all covered by glass. The front bumper is unpainted and the grille sticks out in front of it. It's grey color creeps up the fenders. After that, the front rotates up to a cowl hood, slowing crawling up to the large windshield, accompanied by two large plastic mirrors. The car is a pickup with an extended cabin, giving it 4 seats. Most of the glass is covered with plastic. From the front fenders, the undercarriage tucks into the body of the truck. The wheels are large, wrapped in high profile tires.
Near the back, the bed is quite short. It has a grey floor and black trim around it. The undercarriage's gray color continues onto the rear fenders, joining up with the unpainted bumper. The rear of the car is adorned with 2 light units, each housing a taillight, a brake light below it, and a reversing light below them, all covered with glass. The Taskmaster 4WD has one exhaust pipe under the bumper and to the left. It is commonly found in red, but can be found in special paints in certain missions.
Performance[]
The Taskmaster 4WD has favorable performance. It is slower than other cars, and its acceleration is sluggish. Turning capability is great, but it is easy to lose control when accelerating through a turn. All of this, however, is mitigated by the fact that it is very good off-road and its bed allows for item transport. This is due to its large wheels, high ground clearance and short wheelbase. It is also fairly durable and can be found on all of the maps, sandbox and campaign.
Trivia[]
- In the mission "Insurance fraud", one of the targets is a Taskmaster 4WD painted in white, with dual stripes. One of the stripes is painted black, the other is painted red.
- In the mission "Power Outage", a blue Taskmaster 4WD is the escape vehicle.
- In the mission "The GPS devices", one of the GPS devices is on a Race Boat which is being towed by a Taskmaster.
- Lawrence Lee Junior owns a Taskmaster 4WD, as it is seen parked in his private parking space.
- In Cullington, at a bonfire by the soccer field, three Taskmasters can be found, two of which being unique variants. One of them is yellow and has its bed covered, and the other is all black and doesn't have a crew cab, making it noticeably shorter. The yellow one has two steering wheels for some reason.
