Nils Andrée[]

Nils Andrée is a major / minor character in Teardown. He is a time traveller-camper, who has built a time travelling camper capable of venturing into any time, anywhere. His residence is not revealed, although one would assume he lives in his camper.

Story[]

Nils Andrée who travelled back in time in search of camping spots caused a problem on a time curve. In order to fix the issue the player needs to travel back in time and help in the demolition of a building. He then sends the Time Camper to the Löckelle Teardown Services. Upon arriving in the past you are tasked with stealing supplies for your camp. He then asks of the player to steal explosives for his plan.

Andrée asks of you to collect spacetime debris from the Time Camper's crash at Mineral Ravine in order to avoid the risk of breaking the space time continuum. He then informs the player that the Time Camper is incapable of time travel due to its damages and must be repaired.

In order to get more work done, Andrée asks you to demolish the Combustown saloon in order to keep potential bandits and drifters away. He then tasks you to steal the horologium from the Mineral Ravine clocktower. At the same time he is taking care of old cars for spacetime stability reasons. Later he tasks you with stealing grease to make the gears run properly again.

The last thing needed to repair the Time Camper is a calibrated throttle held by Charles Keerthi. Keerthi agrees to give Andrée if the player can enact the sales tactic the "Motivational Reminder". After this is complete, Andrée informs that there is but two things left to do, warm up the time circuits and perform a kickstart on the engine. He instructs your to make a horse powered mill to warm up the circuits. Finally he tasks you with demolishing the bridge to drop a train carrying Keerthi's gunpowder shipment, which has enough power to kickstart the time machine and send you back to the future/present. He says that he will be waiting on the other side.

To my future, your present Fantastic! If you are reading this everything went as planned!

The next step is for you to come back in time and help me. Unfortunately, I need to demolish a building to keep the timeline stable and can't do it myself.
I've set up everything for a return trip to the exact time and location of your arrival. Just gat in the car and hit the button on the laptop, I will send you more instructions by the time you arrive in the past.

P.S. Time travel can be tricky and mishaps may happen on your way to the past, so buckle up!

Welcome to before You made it!

And mostly in one piece if I've read the Time Camper feedback data correctly. My time engine didn't find any other matching time curves to reach this exact time and place but I guess building your own time engine has its pros and cons.

The reason you are here is due to a small.. problem on this time curve. Honestly, I don't think it was anyone's fault really, just some unfortunate circumstances. At least I set up a solid plan to restore this spacetime mess, and for that I will need your help.
First off, we need some basic supplies for your camp! The trailer may have some food, water and a spare generator, but they won't last forever and it's better to be safe than sorry. I left you a small stash of tools in the abandoned mines nearby so go and get them!

Introductions are in order Pardon me! I totally forgot in all this spacetime curvature shenanigans that you've entered this story before even meeting me!

Let me introduce myself. My name is Nils Andrée and I'm a camping enthusiast who has been to every place but not every time, so I've embarked on a journey to find the ultimate time and place to set up camp!

Now that's out the way, you still need more supplies so go to Combustown and stock up!

Explosive matter I hope your trip the Combustown went well. Lovely place, isn't it?

Now we need to get a hold of some explosive matter for my fix-it-all plan to work, but it's not as common as it is in your day and age.
By the way, people started buying gunpowder-driven alarms that go off and warn the hot air balloon guards. They float around 24/7 since that fearmonger, Charles Keerthi began warning everyone about potential thieves.
I mean, we are trying to steal so technically, he ain't wrong. I believe he does so just to lure people into buying alarms bundled with his overpriced insurances.

Spacetime mess Your collision made quite the mess in Mineral Ravine, a nearby town that now has some modern things from the Time Camper strewn all over the place. It would be very unfortunate to leave it be and risk breaking the spacetime continuum.

To make matters worse, the Time Camper suffered some damage. Right now she's incapable of time travel but worry not, I will figure it out and send you all the schematics needed to fix her up.

The collision happened over the ravine and various modern items are stuck in unstable time loops. Interacting with them in any way will most likely result in a harmless but loud explosion, which can be just enough to alert the hot air balloon guards.

Anyway, be careful when you pick up the spacetime debris!

Glass half empty Now that we have dealt with the debris and stocked up on explosives, we must make the mining town less attractive to bandits and drifters so we can get some work done.

A mixture of locals and out-of-towners use Combustown's saloon day and night, which makes it really tricky to figure out when it's safest for us to do the necessary things to fix the spacetime continuum. We must buy ourselves some undisturbed time by taking out the saloon to keep patrons away.

And don't worry, it's insured so we are technically doing the owner a favor. At least, that's what that insurance salesman Charles would say..

A proper horologium Great news!

You have everything needed to fix the Time Camper, except for some mechanical stuff. With almost everything else in place, all we need right now is a good clock.

Our best bet is the horologium in the clock tower at Mineral Ravine; it should do the trick. There is also the matter of warming up the time circuit, but you will need a separate contraption for that so let's just focus on the clock for now as I draw up the required schematics.

Oh and beware of flying debris, it will be windy today if I remember correctly! It's a good thing you don't have to worry about the balloon people in such weather..

I'm off to take care of some old cars for spacetime stability related stuff. More instructions will follow once you've got the goods. Good luck!

Lubricants Splendid work bringing the horologium, unfortunately we are going to need a lot of grease to get it running smoothly again. Yesterday's storm left the gears full of sand and dirt.

Some good old fat lard should do the trick. Head into town and get a hold of as much as you can; the locals should have plenty of it.

P.S. Don't worry about fixing the Time Camper, everything is running smoothly on my end.

Beneficial deal Great!

With the gears greased up, we have everything to fix the Time Camper in your vicinity except for one specifically calibrated throttle. Fortunately for us, Charles' alarm sales are plummeting and he happens to own the very unique piece that we need. I've convinced him to give it to us on the condition we help him to deploy a sales tactic he calls the 'Motivational Reminder.' It basically entails getting rid of the towns gunpowder supplies in Mineral Ravine so that folks will buy his insurance policies.
If you do that, he will give us the calibrated throttle we need to get you back to the future-or as you call it, present day.

Grass powered engine Now we have all the parts for the time machine to travel back, but first we need a way to warm up the time circuit and after that, perform a proper kickstart to get the time engine running.

But here's the good part - Keerthi has a large delivery of alarms arriving by train very soon. Why is this good news, you ask? Because it carries enough gunpowder to send you back to the present and then some!

However, before all that we need something to warm up the time circuit. We'll try to get enough power by strapping a horse to a mill but we have neither a horse or a mil, But, Combustown has enough heavy machinery and horses to sort that out and after our 'saloon remodeling', the town is almost empty so no one will get in the way.

We will build our own mill, with horses and gears!

Off the rails Fantastico!

The mill will help us warm up the time circuit properly, so strap it to the engine inside the Time Camper to get things going.

About Charles Keerthi's delivery; it's arriving by train early tomorrow morning and will be perfect for us to kickstart the time engine and take you back to your time in Löckelle.

Here's the plan:
1) Take out the bridge before the train arrives.
2) The train will crash into the ravine upon arrival.
3) The explosion shockwave will kickstart the time engine and simultaneously fix the timeline-if my calculations are correct!

And don't worry, if Charles has his own deliveries insured we've practically done him a favor by doing this. Now go get some rest! You have a lot to attend to early tomorrow morning.

I'll be waiting for you on the other side of time and space. See you soon!
