The Gun is a basic ranged weapon in Teardown. It is used to precisely destroy voxels. It functions as a more accurate and reserved version of the Shotgun.
Description[]
A small grey weapon with a brown grip and a long barrel, the Gun is used to precisely break certain voxels at range. Any material not meant to be outright indestructible can be damaged by the Gun, albeit not very heavily, as the power of it's shots is quite limited. Despite this, it has a very long range and much faster firerate compared to the likes of the Shotgun and such.
While the Gun may seem like an obselete tool, being unable to deal significant damage to most obstacles and possessing a low ammo count, its existence fills an important niche. In situations where a specific obstruction needs to be destroyed, powerful weaponry such as the Shotgun, Hunting Rifle or any explosives could cause collateral damage(thereby possibly interupting a mission's flow), and more accurate weapons like the Blowtorch can only destroy certain materials. The Gun avoids all of these issues. It does not destroy more than needed, and it's use saves ammo for other, more important weapons.
Trivia[]
- The gun used to be called the "Handgun".[1]
