The Front Loader is one of the many drivable Vehicles in Teardown. Its first appearance is on Evertides Mall. It is the fastest construction vehicle.
Design[]
The Front Loader is one of the construction vehicles in Teardown, and appears to be based off of CAT wheel loaders (no particular model).
Starting from the front, the most recognizable feature of the machine is visible: the large metal front bucket mounted on a boom. This assembly can be moved up and down using LMB and RMB(default input). Behind the shovel and between the arms of the boom is the bell crank, hooked up to a hydraulic cylinder. In real life, this is what would be used to raise the shovel however it is purely cosmetic in-game. Under the boom are the large wheels, covered by incomplete fenders and joined by spotlights.
Behind the front frame is the black cab. It has a yellow roof and ladders on it's sides. Behind all of this is the rear frame, which houses the engine and the rear wheels. The rear wheels are covered by large fenders mere voxels ahead of the rear bumper. The bumper houses tiny taillights sitting below bigger brake lights. Rising above the brake lights are the reversing lights, perched on a black radiator guard. The black coloration continues from the guard and terminates at the rear window. The Front Loader has a vertical exhaust pipe near the cabin and is painted in a bright yellow color with grey and black accents.
Performance[]
The Front Loader, being a construction vehicle, is great for tearing through buildings. It has great durability and its front bucket works in a similar way to the Excavator but is more fragile, so it is not recommended to use it for building destruction. Instead, it is better to ram the machine through a building (with the shovel down) to achieve maximum efficiency as most of the machine's durability is behind the shovel. Leaving the shovel down will protect the machine from extra damage. However, this may get the Front Loader stuck as the vehicle has somewhat low ground clearance and the shovel may get wedged in building geometry especially if it is left raised.
Like many other construction vehicles in Teardown, the Front Loader is well-optimized for destroying buildings, but is not good at anything else. It is a slow vehicle, but faster than other industrial or utility vehicles. When destroying buildings a large amount of debris gets left behind. Driving on the remains can clog the wheels of the Front Loader and get it stuck. This can be remedied by removing troublesome rubble from under the vehicle.
