The Basket Lift is one of the many drivable Vehicles in Teardown. Its first appearance is in Lee Chemicals.
Design[]
The Basket Lift does not appear to be based on any particular model of lift., but looks akin to that of Genie articulated boom lifts.
The machine starts off with four black wheels wrapped in grey tires attached to an H-shaped frame with exposed axles. The frame connects to the main body with a rotating hinge (the main body cannot rotate, this is purely cosmetic). The main body is a white wedge-shaped mass of metal which supports the large arm. In the middle of the main body is a T-shaped extension, the rear of which holds the motors to actuate the assembly. In front of it is the arm, or rather a cosmetic extension of it which does not function.
On the back of the main body and to the left is the large arm, used for getting to high places. On the end of the arm is the basket: a small gated platform on which a person would stand. Real-life basket lifts are operated by multiple people(one who stands in the basket and one who controls the arm), but that is not possible in Teardown. However, the basket can still be accessed by walking up the arm. The arm can be moved up and down using LMB and RMB (default input). The Basket Lift does not have any exhaust pipe or lights and is painted in a bright green color with red accents and a white main body, and the basket is painted in a grey color with caution stripes on the bottom.
Performance[]
The Basket Lift, much like the Telehandler, does not serve much purpose. It is not durable, it is very slow (it is the slowest vehicle in the game along with the Excavator and Mini Excavator). It can be used to destroy in small amounts, but it isn't very effective. It also does not have any indestructible components unlike other construction or utility vehicles. However, it is marginally more useful than the handler due to its longer reach which enables it to climb up to areas that are a lot higher than the Telehandler can.
